What is Meta Description?

The `<meta name="description">` tag that controls the snippet shown beneath a page's title in Google search results.

Meta description doesn't directly affect ranking (Google has been explicit about this), but it heavily influences click-through rate from the search results page. Aim for 150–160 characters, lead with the value proposition, include the keyword the page targets, and write to the searcher's intent. Google may rewrite the description (about 60% of the time) if it thinks the page content matches the query better than your tag — but a strong, intent-aligned meta description is still your best lever for the CTR you do get. Every InBuild page emits a meta description through the `createMetadata()` helper.
