What is Alt Text?
Text describing an image's content, used by screen readers and search engines when the image can't be displayed.
Alt text serves two audiences: accessibility (screen readers read it aloud to blind users) and SEO (search engines use it to understand what an image depicts). Write alt text describing the image's content accurately — don't keyword-stuff. For purely decorative images, use `alt=""` (empty alt) to signal screen readers to skip it. InBuild's AI generation prompts for an alt field on every Image node and typically fills it with contextual text, but this isn't verified or enforced — a node the AI leaves empty or generic falls back to the generic placeholder "Website image," not a real description. The editor lets you edit alt text per image via the Properties panel.
