What is Schema.org?

A shared vocabulary for structured data that search engines use to understand web page content.

Schema.org defines types (Organization, Product, BlogPosting, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList) and properties (name, description, datePublished, price) that describe web content in a machine-readable format. Google, Bing, and other search engines use schema.org vocabulary in JSON-LD structured data to power rich results. The vocabulary is maintained collaboratively by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and Yandex.
